Man arrested, charged with manslaughter in White Castle shooting Nov. 21
One man was taken into custody and charged with manslaughter last week for a fatal shooting in White Castle, according to the Iberville Parish Sheriff’s Office. Daniel Knowles, 22, was arrested Nov. 21 and taken into custody for allegedly killing a White Castle man. He was also charged with obstruction of justice.

Plaquemine mayor has successful surgery after hunting accident
PLAQUEMINE, La. (BRPROUD) – City of Plaquemine Mayor Ed Reeves Jr. had successful surgery after he broke his collarbone during a hunting accident early Friday morning. According to the City of Plaquemine on Facebook, Reeves was hunting on his 4-wheeler when he hit a large hole and flipped. The post said the vehicle fell on him, and he broke his collarbone, ribs and leg. Reeves was scheduled to have surgery to fix his collarbone and leg over the weekend.
St. Gabriel teen arrested after hit-and-run involving state trooper
ST. CHARLES PARISH, La. (WGNO) — A 19-year-old is in the custody of the St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office in connection to a hit-and-run crash on Friday, Nov. 24. According to reports from the Louisiana State Police, around 1:30 a.m., a trooper pulled over to the left side of I-10 west on the Bonnet Carre Spillway near milepost 215 in Norco to help a driver change their tire.
Walter Leftwich recognized for contributions to Prairieville Fire department
Ascension Parish has recognized Walter Leftwich and his contributions to advancing fire protection in Ascension Parish. Leftwich became a charter member of the Prairieville Volunteer Fire Department, helping it grow into the robust organization it has become, serving the community so well. Having served multiple terms as president of the Prairieville Volunteer FD, and after actively volunteering for many years, Leftwich retired as a lifetime member of the Prairieville Volunteer Fire Department.
