Well that was awkward... In case you don't remember the scandal from the early 2000s, actor (and now-country singer) Dennis Quaid was married to superstar actress Meg Ryan. The two got married in 1991, and had their first and only child Jack Quaid, in 1992. But in 2000, Ryan starred in a movie called "Proof of Life" alongside New Zealand actor Russell Crowe - and the two apparently struck up a romantic relationship. The Hollywood affair became quite the scandal, dominating tabloids and ultimately ending with Quaid and Ryan separating in June 2000 before finalizing their divorce in July 2001. In fact, the scandal was so much that Ryan wouldn't even appear on the press tour for the movie so she wouldn't have to answer questions about the affair, and the film's director blamed the relationship for the movie flopping at the box office. Ryan would later deny that Crowe caused the end of her marriage to Quaid:
"Russell didn't break up the marriage. He was definitely there at the end, but it wasn't his fault... Dennis was not faithful to me for a long time, and that was very painful. I found out more about that once I was divorced." And although her relationship with Crowe ended up lasting only a few months, the damage was done. Apparently Joe Rogan forgot about that whole incident though. During a podcast with Crowe, Rogan was casually talking about meeting celebrities, and he threw out Quaid's name when mentioning celebrities that he's met: "I always feel like, 'This is going to go away.' And then I'm like, 'Nope, Russell Crowe, oh wow!' I met Dennis Quaid the other day, same thing. It's like, 'Oh it's Dennis Quaid.' Just seems so strange."
Awkward... Now, it doesn't seem like Rogan was bringing up Quaid intentionally because of his past with Crowe, but man, what an example to randomly throw out there. And you could cut the tension with a knife, as Crowe went silent and seemed desperate to change the subject. https://twitter.com/patriotjohn817/status/1825959379457516014 Brutal.
