According to a recent press release, Jason Dady Restaurant Group and the private real estate investment firm Ashkenazy Acquisition Corporation are teaming up to debut Mexico C eat y — “an immersive dining, entertainment, and shopping experience that honors the culinary history and culture of both Mexico and San Antonio.”

Coming to the Shops at Rivercenter on the Riverwalk, the venue will take over the existing 21,000-square-foot food court, “offering a vibrant array of eateries, a panaderia-inspired coffee shop, a stage for live music and art activations, a marketplace, and more.”

“This isn’t just a food court — it’s an experience,” shares Chef Jason Dady.

“Our goal with Mexico C eat y is to create a space where locals and visitors can enjoy the flavors and traditions of Mexico while celebrating the unique spirit of our city. We’re excited to bring a variety of concepts to this space, with each element designed to offer an immersive experience,” he adds.

He continues, “We have everything from paletas and churros to street tacos and wagyu fajitas across an abundance of both quick- and full-service outlets.”

Some of the upcoming restaurant concepts to open at Shops at Rivercenter include Tres Arcos — “an eclectic full-service restaurant focusing on the flavor, flair and favorites of Tex-Mex cuisine” — the 300-seat bar Dos Cantinas , the speakeasy-style agave tasting room El Ultimo , and the panaderia café Dulce Aroma.

“Chef Jason Dady is a tremendous addition to the Shops at Rivercenter,” expresses Joe Press , chief operating officer of Ashkenazy Acquisition — “It’s the next step in redefining the center’s transition from what was a traditional retail shopping mall into what it is today — a premier entertainment experience and destination.”

Mexico C eat y is slated to open in early 2025. Stay tuned for updates.
