Wild Berry Acai is coming to Midtown at 2424 Elliston Pl., according to recently filed permits. The spot used to belong to Frutta Bowls. It will be located next to Roma Pizza & Pasta and Thai Satay.

Justin and Jodi Whittaker first opened Wild Berry Acai in East Nashville at 819 Main St. in 2021 with the goal of bringing specialty acai bowls to Nashville. It serves organic soft-serve acai with no water and no ice, offering add-ons like toasted coconut, almond butter, seeds, almonds, fruit and granola. They also offer acai smoothies.

Jodi Whittaker said they have a mid-August opening goal, though they have yet to set an official opening date.

The new location will be similar to the original spot, featuring the same menu. Jodi Whittaker said they wanted to expand to reach a larger audience.

“Right now, we’re just on the east side [of Nashville], so we’ve been looking at places on the west side just so we can offer our acai bowls to a bigger area of Nashville,” Jodi Whittaker said. “It was a good opportunity and in a good location.”

The new spot is near Centennial Sportsplex and Vanderbilt University, both of which were draws for the Whittakers. They are looking forward to introducing their unique acai products to a new side of town.

“We’re a little different than the other acai places,” Jodi Whittaker said. “We specialize in acai bowls. There are a lot of places that will offer acai bowls with other things, but usually just one or two kinds. We have a whole bunch of different kinds and toppings, and it’s our speciality.”
