Man killed, another hurt in shooting in small Vermont town
A man was killed and another man was hurt Sunday in a shooting in the small community of Leicester. The investigation by Vermont State Police began Sunday just before 10 p.m., when troopers got a 911 call for a disturbance on Route 7, according to a news release. When authorities arrived on scene, they found one man dead and another man injured, according to state police.

ADDISON COUNTY — On May 24, after the deadline for the last print edition of the Independent, Vermont State Police identified the driver who was killed in a May 19 crash in Ferrisburgh. Police reported that Katherine Looby, 36, of Waltham was killed when the Subaru she was driving on Route 7 near Dakin Farm in Ferrisburgh at around 12:12 a.m. crossed the centerline and crashed head-on into a tractor-trailer.
