Person identified for disturbing social media post in Westport

WESTPORT, Conn. (WTIC Radio) - Westport Police identify and locate a person in connection with what they're calling a "disturbing social media post."

Police say they responded to a residence around 7:15 a.m. this morning where a student was concerned about a "disturbing" social media post and didn't want to go to school because of it.

Responding officers worked with the school resource officer and detective bureau and identified the person who they say was responsible for the post.

By 8 a.m., the responsible individual was located and it was determined there was no threat to the school.

Police have not commented or confirmed the specific content of the social media post.
