Huntington High School Boosts Fencing Program through Collaboration with Harborfields
Huntington High School's fencing program has entered a new phase by teaming up with Harborfields. This collaboration makes it the sixth team of its kind among the ten teams in Section XI. Seven girls and four boys from Harborfields have joined the Blue Devils, starting the season on a positive note, says head coach Michelle O’Brien. The team practices and hosts home meets at the Jack Abrams STEM Magnet School. This partnership is anticipated to create competitive boys and girls teams.
Bridgeport's Total Mortgage Arena to Host New York's PWHL Team Home Games from January 5, 2024
The Professional Women’s Hockey League (PWHL) has confirmed that its New York franchise will host home games at Total Mortgage Arena in Bridgeport, Connecticut. The first home game is set for Friday, January 5, 2024, at 7:00 p.m. ET against Toronto. The league has also scheduled home openers for all its teams, with the season starting on New Year’s Day in Toronto. Pascal Daoust, PWHL New York General Manager, is looking forward to showcasing the team in a high-quality arena.

Boys basketball team to play at home tonight
The Norwalk Boys Basketball Team will play their first home game of the season tonight at 7:45 p.m. in the NPECC. “First games are not as important as I used to think they were,” said Aaron Pelzer, head coach. “It’s nice to get out there and see what you have but overall there’s not a ton of importance other than finding out that starting point. We typically try to keep it simple for the first game since we only have 10 practices before the first game and build on as the season goes.”

Undefeated Darien was the unanimous selection as the No. 1 girls volleyball team in the state in voting by state coaches in the final top 10 poll of the season. The Blue Wave (25-0) handled Southington (24-2) just as they handled nearly everyone else this season with a 3-0 victory in the Class LL championship game.
