WESTON — Carol Marie (Krafft) Thayer, 75, of Weston went home to be with her Lord on Thursday, March 16, 2023 at the Select Specialty Hospital in Charleston, WV. She was born in Weston on December 8, 1947: daughter of the late William H. and Martha Virginia (Skinner) Krafft.
Carol’s memory will be forever cherished by her two sons: Eddie Paul Thayer and wife Juanita Kay of Valdese, NC and Christy C. Thayer and companion Crystal Starcher of Jane Lew, 9 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. She is also fondly remembered by one brother: William Ronald Krafft of Weston, one sister: Kathryn Louise Posey of Mt. Morris, PA and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Carol was preceded in death by one sister: Wanda Jean Heath.
Carol was a skilled laborer at a furniture factory in North Carolina and after moving to Weston she was a waitress at several restaurants in the Weston area. She loved to read and garden and some of her favorite times were spent camping and enjoying the outdoors. Carol will be missed by all who knew her.
Carol was quite a private person and at her request a graveside service will be held on Thursday, March 23, 2023 at 1 p.m. in her family cemetery, Krafft Cemetery, in Braxton County with Pastor Wease Day officiating. On-line condolences and life stories in memory of Carol may be expressed at hardmanfamilyfuneralhome.com.
Hardman Family Funeral Home of Weston considers it an honor and a privilege to serve the family of Carol Marie (Krafft) Thayer.
