ARDMORE, OKLAHOMA — It is finally going to rain across Texas and Oklahoma this week, and it may be far too much, too fast. The NOAA Weather Prediction Center 7-day rain forecast, running from 8 AM ET Monday, September 28 through 8 AM ET Monday, October 5, shows a staggering 7.0 inches of rain for Ardmore, Oklahoma, 5.9 inches for San Antonio and 5.5 inches for Dallas. That rain is set to fall on ground that has been bone dry for months, with Dallas recording just 0.01 inch of rain since August 1, raising a serious threat of flash flooding across the southern Plains.
