UPDATE: West Springfield Police say the accident involved four vehicles and several people were injured.
WEST SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – Rescue crews were called to a four-car crash on Rt. 20 and Sibley Avenue in West Springfield Monday evening.
According to the West Springfield Fire Department, it happened on Route 20 and Sibley Ave. at around 5:30 p.m. Police found several passengers outside of their cars, with some on the grass on the side of the road.
Several ambulances were called in to assist. In total, four people were taken to the hospital with various injuries including broken bones and facial injuries but all are expected to be okay.
Four vehicles were towed from the area and the road was reopened later in the evening. West Springfield Police are still investigating the cause of the accident.
