Pendleton allowed a couple to park their trailer on his property, according to the Tippecanoe County Sheriff’s Office. The couple also lived in the trailer.

About 9:30 p.m. Saturday, the sheriff’s deputies responded to a call that Pendleton and the couple were fighting, according to sheriff’s office bulletins.

The couple told Pendleton that they wanted to move their trailer to a different part of Pendleton’s property, according to the sheriff’s office.

Pendleton did not want them to move the trailer, and an argument ensued, according to the sheriff’s office.

Pendleton grabbed a baseball bat and hit the man, according to the sheriff’s office. The woman then took the bat away from Pendleton and hit him with it.

Charles left but returned a short time later with a shotgun and shot the rear tire of the couple's truck, according to the sheriff’s office.

Deputies arrived a short time later and arrested Pendleton.
