A woman is alive tonight thanks to the quick actions of her grandson and a man driving his crying four-month-old around the neighborhood.
On the night of February 23, Jennie Brown's West Linn home caught fire.
Tualatin Valley Fire and Rescue say her grandson, Kai, quickly called 9-1-1 and then convinced his grandma to evacuate.
As the fire spread, Jennie fell on the stairs.
Luckily, Ronnie Coulam was passing by, trying to get his son to calm down.
Coulam was able to pull Jennie to the door, then TVFR crews stepped in and pulled her outside.
Firefighters were then able to put the fire out.
Thankfully, Kai wasn't hurt, and Jennie only suffered minor injuries.
Today, everyone involved met at a Wilsonville fire station to say thank you and exchange hugs.
CORRECTION: Initially, TVF&R said Kai was Jennie Brown's granddaughter. It has since corrected its information to say Kai is Jennie Brown's grandson.
