Troutdale man arrested after firing gun at home, standoff with deputies
A 57-year-old man was arrested Sunday, Oct. 1, after allegedly firing a gun into a Troutdale home. Don Ray Menuey, of Troutdale, was taken into custody and faces charges of violating a restraining order, unlawful use of a weapon, reckless endangerment, discharging a firearm in city limits, and menacing (domestic violence). The incident began around 6:47 a.m. with 911 callers reporting someone had fired multiple rounds at a home on Southeast Topaz Court in Troutdale, before speeding off in a vehicle. Responding Multnomah County Sheriff’s Office deputies located the suspect, later identified as Menuey, a few blocks from the victimized home. Menuey allegedly got out of the vehicle armed. Deputies ordered him to drop the gun, which was held at his side. He did not initially comply, though less than a minute later deputies were able to convince him to drop the gun. He was taken into custody without further incident.
