A new Salt Lake County café is combining two things a lot of people love - dogs and coffee.

Pup Cups Coffee is located inside a thrift store at 7136 S. Redwood Road in West Jordan.

It's dedicated to finding creative ways to support area rescues and help dogs get adopted.

Co-owner Rachelle Coburn said her ultimate goal is to have a rescue of her own, but this was a way for her to support rescues and build connections.

She started the coffee shop with her husband after losing her job.

"I was trying to find something after being laid off that brought value to my life. I love coffee, and I love dogs and animals, so this made sense," she said.

Pup Cups Coffee features dogs who have been at a rescue for a while.

They also showcase the rescues they work with and donate too, like Rescue Rovers Adoptions, CAWS, and Best Friends. They focus on dogs who haven't been adopted for over 100 days.

"Everyone looks at puppies and younger dogs, and it's typically the older dogs that are in the rescues for a long time," Coburn said.

Coburn said they do monthly adoption events where you can meet some of the dogs they showcase at the coffee shop.
