A grand jury indicted the man accused of fleeing the scene of a crash last month in West Bridgewater that left one woman dead.
The Plymouth County District Attorney's Office said 33-year-old Juan Leonardo Parra Altamirano was indicted Tuesday on the charge of leaving the scene of a crash resulting in death.
Prosecutors said a Toyota Scion TC and a Honda Accord were driving north on Route 24 in West Bridgewater on April 3 when the Toyota changed lanes and struck the Honda.
The Honda was then disabled and collided with a pickup truck.
Massachusetts State Police previously said the Honda was engulfed in flames, killing the driver, 46-year-old Erpharo Gilbert.
Altamirano, the driver of the Toyota, allegedly fled the scene, leaving behind a bumper and license plate.
Prosecutors said Altamirano turned himself into Massachusetts State Police on April 6.
He will be arraigned in Superior Court Wednesday.
