This is a bittersweet introduction, as Holy Angels prepares to wish Mrs. Anhalt a “happy retirement” at the end of this school year; she will be sorely missed.
Anhalt said, “I was born and raised in southeastern Wisconsin. After attending Holy Family Elementary School and graduating from Whitefish Bay High School, I earned a bachelor’s degree in Merchandising at UW-Stout.
“I worked as a buyer for Kohl’s Department Store for several years where I met my husband, Dan. After moving to the West Bend area, I was fortunate to spend time at home with my 2 children.
“In 1999, I was back at school and earned my post-baccalaureate degree in education for grades 1 to 9. After working as a substitute teacher for the Hartford and West Bend School districts, I began teaching at Holy Angels in 2001. I have taught many subjects over the years including religion, reading, math, and language arts, but my passion is math.
My husband and I have lived in the West Bend area for 32 years, and we have been members of Holy Angels for the last 22 years. We have 2 children, Brian and Christine, who are graduates of Holy Angels (Class of 2005 & 2001).
“As some of you may know, I will be retiring at the end of the school year. Time has really flown by since I began my teaching career at Holy Angels. It has been a wonderful journey. My husband recently retired, and we are now looking forward to spending time with our children and their spouses (including our new granddaughter), spending time at our cottage in northern Wisconsin, and traveling.
“I feel blessed to have been a part of the Holy Angels faith community. I have truly enjoyed working with the students, parents, teachers, and staff. I sincerely thank you for your kindness, support, and commitment to your child’s faith-based education.”
