Dell Rapids' Jack Henry named Argus Leader Student of the Week
Our Student of the Week winner for the week of May 17, and the last for this school year, is Jack Henry, of Dell Rapids High School. Henry was nominated by their school to participate in the last week in our newest initiative, celebrating high school students across Lincoln and Minnehaha counties. The winner is usually determined by a poll with votes from the public between Monday and Thursday, but Henry was the only nomination received this week as school districts wrap up for the year.
Kippley named SF public health director
SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) — Minnehaha County Commissioner Joe Kippley has been appointed the next public health director for the city of Sioux Falls. Kippley will fill a role that has been vacant since former director Charles Chima resigned in 2023 after about two years. Amy Richardson, the assistant director of public health, had served as interim director since at least June of 2023.
