Arizona woman indicted for trying to smuggle almost 95 pounds of meth from Mexico
PHOENIX — A federal grand jury indicted an Arizona woman last week for trying to smuggle methamphetamine into the country, officials said. Rosa Villanueva, 39, faces two counts: possessing meth with the intention to sell and importing drugs into the country, according to a Friday announcement from the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Arizona.
Wednesday Fatal Accident
An 81-year-old man lost his life in an early morning traffic accident. According to the Yuma County Sheriff's Office, the accident occurred at about 5:52 a.m. Wednesday on Laguna Dam Road. The initial investigation shows that a Ford F150 pickup was northbound on Laguna Dam Road when it clipped farming equipment being towed by a southbound tractor. The pickup went out of control and collided with an SUV that was behind the tractor. The driver of the pickup, Juventino Bararjas, 81, of Yuma, was pronounced dead at the scene. The accident remains under investigation.
