Federal, state moves advance South Florida rail projects
MIAMI — Two commuter rail projects in South Florida that would use the Florida East Coast Railway main line received positive funding news this week, although Miami-Dade’s mayor expressed some reservations about one of those plans. On Friday, Oct. 23, the Federal Transit Administration announced that the Broward County Commuter Rail South project, which would [...] Read More...

BUILD THAT WALL! Outside Levin Worth Boca Raton (Woodfield) Traffic Woes To Continue
Woodfield Country Club BUILDS THAT WALL!! BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2026 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — We don’t know who will clean the homes or cut the grass in Levin Worth — we mean Woodfield Country Club — as they “Build That Wall,” but construction on the eight foot tall eyesore will continue to mess with eastbound traffic on Clint Moore Road this week between the Turnpike and Jog Road. As we first reported last week, angry motorists and Woodfield homeowners are now calling the multi-month project “Levin Worth,” a Boca-esque spelling of the Leavenworth prison which also has ugly, high walls. You’ll recall that it’s so controversial that a lawyer from Becker Poliakoff — Jonathan Zim — threatened us over our reporting. While we are preparing to report him to the Florida Bar, we’ll focus now on all of the traffic problems expected in Palm Beach County this week. We thank FDOT and Palm Beach County for the updates: Major FDOT Highway Projects Interstate 95 The Boynton Beach Boulevard interchange rebuild — $64 million, finishing in early 2029 — is still the big one. Up to four lanes of I-95 can disappear overnight. I-95 at Boynton Beach Boulevard

This story was updated with comment from the Miami-Dade Mayor's office based on news that happened after publication. Palm Beach roads won't have 'share-the-road' markings after pushback
The Florida Department of Transportation will not include share-the-road pavement marking in its project on State Road A1A in Palm Beach's Midtown, after the roadway symbol prompted pushback from town officials and residents. The state agency won't use the pavement markings known as "sharrows," and no additional signs will be erected beyond those there now, FDOT's project manager confirmed in a letter to the town dated Oct. 9. A sharrow is a painted marking that shows a bicycle with two arrows. It is used to indicate that the travel lane is meant to be shared between vehicles and bicycles in places where there are not dedicated bike lanes. But encouraging bicyclists to share the lane on narrow and busy South County Road is dangerous, council members previously said. They pointed to the prevalence of pelotons, groups of bicyclists that ride side-by-side on the two-lane road and can back up traffic. The news that FDOT has eliminated the sharrow markings comes as the project approaches its December finish line. Construction started in May 2025. FDOT guidelines consider it a "best practice" for transportation planners to include sharrows in projects where the road is too narrow for a bike lane as a
