The summerlike pattern continues into our final day of the workweek after a few locations in the Piedmont and Foothills saw their first 90° day of the year; Charlotte fell just short at 89° on Thursday. Highs will return to the mid-80s this Friday afternoon as a rainmkaing system approaches from the west. A few pop-up storms will roll into our area later in the day. While not everyone will get in on the storms, those that do may see gusty winds approaching 50 mph and small hail. The tornado threat is nonzero, but very low.
