Flash Flood Warning issued for Webster by NWS
Instruction: Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Many flood deaths occur in vehicles. A flash flood warning remains in effect until 8:30 PM CDT for rural areas of Northwestern Webster County, caused by heavy rain from thunderstorms. Between 2 and 4 inches of rain have fallen, and flash flooding is ongoing or expected shortly. The flash flooding may impact small creeks, streams, urban areas, highways, streets, underpasses, and other low-lying areas. Some locations that may experience flash flooding include several highways, low water crossings, and streams and drainages. The warning is based on radar indications.

Lebanon Man Injured In Motorcycle Accident On I-44
An 18-year-old Lebanon man suffered serious injuries following a car-motorcycle accident on I-44, three miles south of Conway, westbound, in Webster County. The Missouri Highway Patrol reports that the motorcycle operated by Michael L. Lile of Lebanon ran into the rear of a car driven by 61-year-old David G. Zuhlke of Springfield. Lile was airlifted to Cox South in Springfield. He was wearing a helmet at the time of the accident.
Kids Day – end-of-school treat

Grant money to go toward reducing overdose deaths in Greene, Christian and Webster Counties
A grant awarded to the Springfield-Greene County Health Department is aimed at helping to reduce overdose deaths. The $111,650 Reducing Overdose through Community Approaches Mentorship or ROCA grant comes from the National Association of County and City Health Officials. Public health officials say it will support prevention strategies and activities to address the high rate of substance use and overdose deaths in Greene County.
CommUNITY partnership meeting sees continued involvement
The Webster County CommUNITY Partnership met Thursday, May 11 at the Marshfield Senior Center. The partnership first formed 10 years ago, initially registered as a Drug Prevention Coalition by the state of Missouri. Many attendees of the meeting represent organizations that provide behavioral health or social services in Webster County.
