Two injured during shooting in Williamsport

WILLIAMSPORT, LYCOMING COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — Two people, including a child, were injured during a shooting in Williamsport over the weekend.

According to the Williamsport Bureau of Police, on September 14 around 12:40 a.m., officers were called to the 500 block of Fifth Avenue for a report of shots fired.

Police say a large group was gathered in the area and then dispersed when the shots were fired.

An adult and juvenile were hit during the shooting leaving them with non-life threatening injuries, law enforcement reported.

The investigation is active. The Williamsport Bureau of Police are asking anyone with information to contact Agt. Aaron Levan at (570) 327-7548 or alevan@cityofwilliamsport.org .
