    Gas prices continue dropping in West Virginia, below $3 in some cities

    CLARKSBURG, W.Va. (WBOY) — The new gas prices report from AAA says that the price per gallon dropped another 11 cents last week in northern West Virginia.

    The average in northern West Virginia is $3.11 as of Sept. 9, but Clarksburg and Bridgeport are even cheaper, according to the report. The average price in Bridgeport is $2.99 and in Clarksburg it’s $3.00 even, with some gas stations offering regular fuel even cheaper than that.

    Sheetz, for example, is offering regular 87 gas for $2.96 in Clarksburg, before discount, according to the Sheetz app. Cities in north central West Virginia like Weston , Belington and Elkins, as well as other cities across the state like Parkersburg, also have stations offering gas under $3.

    Morgantown is still among the most expensive in the region at an average of $3.14, but West Virginia panhandle cities like Weirton and Martinsburg are still the most expensive in the northern region.

    All northern West Virginia cities except Martinsburg are still below the national average price of $3.27. As of Monday, there are 11 states with statewide price averages below $3.

    87 gas is crap for a lot of cars. Mine takes it, but my engine light will flicker of come on occasionally when I use 87 fuel. I have a Honda Accord Lx 2013
