Increased Fishing Activity in Wayne County Following Recent Rainfall
Recent rainfall in Wayne County has increased fishing activity in local streams. Brown and steelhead fish are now present in Maxwell Creek, even with low water levels in Lake Ontario. Anglers are encouraged to fish in Furnace Creek, Maxwell, Salmon Creek, and Mink Creek. Recommended bait includes egg sacs or bright red spoons.

Man fatally shot while hunting in Wayne County identified
The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office has identified the man fatally shot while hunting in Wayne County over the weekend.
