2023 Record : 7-3 (Lost in 1st round of playoffs to Nansemond River)

Notable returnees : Sr. Running back Drevyon Tharrington, Sr. Defensive back Eamon Cuffee

The Comets shocked football fans around Hampton Roads last season when they went 7-2 in the regular season, which included marquee wins over Kecoughtan, Lake Taylor, and Norcom.

Coach quotes: “I attribute it to hard work and belief. Pride. Once you instill pride, they’re going to work hard for themselves. I think that exuded into a few players and then the rest,” Jefferson said on last year’s success. “I feel like when I first got here, it (Granby) was slept on. Because we weren’t winning. It’s hard to get support sometime when you’re losing. I knew we had to hurry and get winning going to get that support and help people realize it’s something worth supporting.”
