STEVENS POINT – The WIAA board of control voted Tuesday to approve conference realignment task force recommendations of realignments for nonfootball sports, including moves for Waukesha North, Waukesha South and Oak Creek.

After hearing appeals to revisions made by the conference realignment task force to the remanded proposals, the following plans were approved for implementation:

  • The construction of a seven-team North Shore Conference to include current North Shore members Cedarburg, Grafton, Hartford, Homestead, Nicolet, Slinger and Whitefish Bay. A new, to-be-named conference was also formed which included current North Shore members such as: Port Washington, West Bend East and West Bend West, and current East Central Conference members including: Kettle Moraine Lutheran, Kewaskum and Plymouth. Current Fox River Classic Conference member Sheboygan South also joins the to-be-named conference.
  • Waukesha North and Waukesha South will move from the Classic 8 Conference to the Woodland Conference, joining Brown Deer, Cudahy, Greendale, Greenfield, Milwaukee Lutheran, New Berlin Eisenhower, New Berlin West, Pewaukee, Pius XI Catholic, Shorewood, South Milwaukee, West Allis Central, Whitnall and Wisconsin Lutheran to form a 16-team league with two divisions. The schools assigned to each division will be decided by the conference's 16 member schools.
  • Oak Creek will move from the Southeast Conference to join the Classic 8 Conference that also includes: Arrowhead, Catholic Memorial, Kettle Moraine, Mukwonago, Muskego, Oconomowoc and Waukesha West. The Southeast Conference consists of seven remaining teams, including: Franklin, Kenosha Bradford, Kenosha Indian Trail, Kenosha Tremper, Racine Case, Racine Horlick and Racine Park.

Each realignment will be implemented for the 2025-2026 sports seasons.
