WATERTOWN, S.D.–At a meeting last month, the Watertown City Council declared the showmobile suprlus property, and agreed to seek bids with the idea of selling it.

But now they’ve put that idea on hold–at least for now.

The council last night agreed to require all bids for the showmobile, which are due by tomorrow, to come back before the council for consideration.

The showmobile is a portable stage that’s hauled around and used at various events such as Thursday Night Live and Cookin on Kampeska.

Former Mayor Sarah Caron spoke in support of keeping it…..

Doug Herr is the director of the Watertown Municipal Band…

City Manager Amanda Mack talked about the thought process that led to the city declaring it as surplus in the first place…

And she said the city has been transparent throughout this process….

The council will address the future of the showmobile, and whether to sell it or keep it, at their June 20th meeting.
