Castlewood man escapes injury in crash on Watertown roundabout

WATERTOWN, S.D.–An 82 year-old Castlewood man escaped injury Friday morning when the car he was driving left a road and smashed into a power pole.
It happened at the south roundabout at 5th Street and 20th Avenue Southeast.
The man was northbound when he failed to negotiate the turns and hit the utility pole.
Watertown Municipal Utilities estimated their loss at $15,000.
The vehicle sustained heavy front end damage, and is a total loss.
