    Garbage prices to increase in the City of Watertown

    WATERTOWN, N.Y. (WWTI) – It’s going to cost a little more money to throw out your trash in the City of Watertown.

    In an announcement from the city, the cost for blue stickers will go up from $3.50 to $4.25 per bag. Those blue stickers are for residents that participate on an “as needed, pay as you go” basis. Each sticker costs covers one bag with a 40-pound maximum weight limit and a maximum size of 32 gallons.

    The cost of garbage totes will also go up on a quarterly and a weekly basis. Here’s a comparison chart of the new and old prices:

    32 gallon $52 quarterly; $4 per week $65 quarterly; $6 per week
    64 gallon $78 quarterly; $6 per week $97.50 quarterly; $7.50 per week
    96 gallon $104 quarterly; $8 per week $130 quarterly; $10 per week

    These pricing changes take effect on Monday, July 1.

    being in such a hole, this city is millions of dollars in debt...RIGHT NOW.... because of the way the previous people ran it(mayor )they obviously either were hiding money... or had NO IDEA what the hell they were doing! that's too much money to be in a hole this size out of nowhere!!! now, our current clown that's in, is trying to increase Everything. property taxes going waaaay up, garbage stickers,.... hell the talk is in a few years to make up for things they want to jump property tax by over 70%..... COMPLETE IDIOTS!!! Ghost town Watertown, here we come!!!
