Waterloo School District threatens to discipline 300 students over bathroom 'protest'

“It's an absolute travesty, what's happening here locally in the Metro East at Waterloo High School," said Ryan Cunningham

Ryan Cunningham, a parent's rights advocate and 'political influencer' in Metro East joins the Mark Reardon Show to discuss the Waterloo School District threatening to discipline 300 students who were told to use the nurse's bathroom if they had concerns about sharing a bathroom with a transgender student, causing a long line.

“There's a trans student at the Waterloo high school that the staff has decided to allow to use whichever bathroom that they choose. And the students that felt uncomfortable with that, they were told that they could use the nurse's restroom, which is a single-stall bathroom. Well, come Friday, you had 300-plus students lining up single file line to use the single-stall bathroom because they didn't feel comfortable, you know, using a bathroom with a member of the opposite sex,” said Cunningham.

He continued, “So the school took that as a form of a protest, you know, these kids are uncomfortable that are left with no other choice. And now the heavy hand of the school is literally calling them, sending emails out saying essentially it's a hate crime, and it's bullying, and they're threatening discipline to these kids who just want to use the restroom on their own.”

Cunningham shared, “It's an absolute travesty, what's happening here locally in the Metro East at Waterloo High School. But you know, it doesn't surprise me being from the People's Republic of Illinois when we got the tyrant J B Pritzker in charge. It's sad that his policies are working his way down to Waterloo.”
