Vice President Kamala Harris , who grew up in California and Quebec , has been mocked for her various adaptations of regional accents while on the presidential campaign trail.

On Wednesday, social media users claimed that Harris revealed a new " Latina " accent for the first time while speaking to the Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute Leadership Conference.

"Oh it's good to see so many friends," Harris said as she looked at the Washington, D.C., crowd.

An audience member yelled out that they loved her.

"I love you back!" Harris responded with a vocal change that revealed a slight accent.

Former President Donald Trump's 2024 campaign account, Trump War Room, wrote on X, "Kamala debuts her fake Hispanic accent while speaking to the Congressional Hispanic Caucus."

"When did she become Latina???" former Rep. George Santos asked, adding in a social media video laughing at the accent. “Oh, Kamala, stop killing me here!"

"Will she call them the 'Latinx' community?" former Trump campaign adviser Steve Cortes reacted on X.

"Kamala debuts a Latina accent… No matter how bad you expect it to be, I promise you it’s worse," a social media user reacted .

"So how many accents has she done since campaigning? I lost count at this point," another social media user asked .

On Labor Day, Harris was campaigning in Detroit, and social media users noticed that she had modified her voice with an unusual accent as she shouted , "You better thank a union member!"

In August, she was also heard using a Southern accent in Georgia.

On the same day in Detroit, she spoke differently than she did while in Pittsburgh.

This past Saturday night, Harris seemed to again alter the tone of her voice during an address to the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation's 2024 Phoenix Awards Dinner in Washington, D.C.

“Hello to all my divine nine brothers and sisters," she proclaimed and then switched back to her normal manner of speaking.

Fox News senior White House correspondent Peter Doocy has pressed White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre about Harris's use of accents.

"Since when does the vice president have what sounds like a Southern accent?" Doocy asked during a White House press briefing in early September.

"I have no idea what you're talking about," the White House press secretary shot back, adding, "I'm not even going to entertain some question about — it's just, hearing it sounds so ridiculous."

"Is that how she talks in meetings here?" Doocy continued to press, to which Jean-Pierre moved on to another reporter without addressing his questions.

Reactions to the latest speech by Harris on Wednesday adds to the various accusations that she frequently adopts multiple accents that have included Midwestern, Southern, Latino, and French accents depending on her audience.

During her Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute address on Wednesday, Harris noted that she grew up with a mother who had an accent.

"I would often see how my mother was treated. She was a 5-foot-tall brown woman with an accent. And I would see how the world would sometimes treat her," she said. "I’m going to tell you something, and this is where I come from. My mother never lost her cool."
