Vice President Kamala Harris is afraid of former President Donald Trump and Fox News . Most people suspected this, but the Democratic presidential nominee confirmed it on Monday night.
Harris notified the Trump campaign that she would not participate in a debate with the former president scheduled for Sept. 4 and to be hosted by Fox News, according to a post by Trump on Truth Social. It’s the latest example of cowardice from Harris, who has refused to hold any press conferences and answer unscripted questions from the media after her appointment as the Democrats’ candidate for president. This timidity starkly contrasts the bold and apparently false bravery Harris exhibited about a debate during a campaign rally in Georgia last month.
“Well, Donald, I do hope you’ll reconsider,” Harris said during a campaign rally in Georgia last month. “Meet me on the debate stage ... because as the saying goes, if you’ve got something to say, say it to my face.”
Apparently, the “saying it to her face” was just all for show, said in front of a friendly crowd filled with supporters. It’s obvious now that her political courage does not extend beyond the friendly confines of television networks that feature moderators who are sympathetic and supportive of the vice president’s presidential campaign, such as ABC News.
For his part, Trump rightfully seized on the opportunity to ridicule his Democratic-appointed opponent for running scared. The former president used Harris’s debate decline to highlight her shortcomings as vice president and her political failures, including as border czar.
“Comrade Kamala Harris has just informed us that she will NOT do the FoxNews Debate on September 4th,” Trump posted . “I am not surprised by this development because I feel that she knows it is very difficult, at best, for her to defend her record setting Flip-Flopping on absolutely everything she once believed in, including her statements that THERE WILL BE NO FRACKING IN PENNSYLVANIA and her HORRIBLE Performance on the Border, our ‘Border Czar,’ where millions of criminals and people from mental institutions and terrorists, have been allowed to pour into our Country, totally unchecked and unvetted.”
As for Fox News, it also makes sense for Harris to be afraid to appear on the network. She won’t face ideologically aligned and sympathetic debate moderators. Moreover, while regularly lambasted by ideologically threatened left-wing newscasters, journalists, and media, Fox News is the most-watched cable news network in the country and has been for over two decades .
The fact that Harris refuses to participate in a debate on a network with such high ratings could only lead one to presume that she fears the network and its reputation for hard-hitting journalism and not kowtowing to Democratic politicians and ideological principles. Harris knows that any moderator from Fox would not be afraid to challenge the vice president with tough questions.

Trump has many critics, and his actions warrant many comments, even among his supporters. However, one thing that no one could ever say about Trump is that he is afraid to debate his Democratic opponents. Unlike the vice president, Trump has regularly waded in the tumultuous waters of hostile television networks. It would not be unfair to say that Donald Trump has more guts and courage than Kamala Harris.
Harris had an opportunity to shed this reputation, but she declined. Instead of demonstrating the confidence she pretended to have in Georgia, Harris is running away. She is scared of Fox News and, more importantly, of Donald Trump.
