Today, Seattle Storm will be the first WNBA team to visit the White House since 2016. Current Washington Mystics forward Alysha Clark was a member of the Storm last year and was scheduled to make the trip. But if missing this season was hard enough due to a foot injury, she also was a late scratch for the trip to meet U.S. President Joe Biden today due to testing positive for the coronavirus.

As Clark said in her tweet, she was fully vaccinated for COVID-19 and has some minor symptoms, namely congestion. This is definitely a bummer for Clark and we wish her a speedy recovery.

I know I’m a broken record on this topic since March 2020 regarding the coronavirus pandemic as a whole. But again, this virus is no joke as a society disruptor. Please wear those masks, get the vaccines if you haven’t already (or boosters) if you are eligible, so we can move toward a “post COVID-19-as-a-major-disruptor” world.
