Final two people sentenced in federal court for gun theft ring
PEORIA, Ill. (WMBD) — The final two people of a four-person ring that tried to steal guns from stores last year were sentenced by a federal judge sitting in Peoria. Erika Garner, 22, of Peoria, was sentenced Tuesday to time already served since her arrest in August 2023. U.S. District Judge James Shadid also imposed a three-year term of supervised release, the federal version of probation, as well.

(25News Now) - In Soccer, Richwoods and Peoria Notre Dame both won their sectional semifinals, and will meet in the sectional Championship this Saturday. In Softball, Olympia continued their run to the state finals with another win today. In Baseball, Peoria Notre Dame, Normal Community, Dunlap, East Peoria, Delavan, Washington, and Morton all advanced in their respective state playoffs with wins today. In Lacrosse, Washington won a close one and advanced to the final 16.
Every other day chance of thunderstorms but every other day of sunshine
Sunny one day, storms the next, that’s our forecast through the holiday weekend. Thursday will be sunny with highs in the low 80s. We’ll see a couple of rounds of showers and thunderstorms Friday with the risk for an isolated strong to severe storm. Saturday will be sunny and mild, but showers and storms return Sunday. Memorial Day looks partly sunny and cool with highs around 70 and a northwest breeze.
Cooler, less humid Wednesday and Thursday
After a couple of warm and humid days, we get a break with less humidity (at least for a couple of days). Scattered storms return Friday, it looks sunny and dry Saturday, thunderstorms return Sunday and showers continue into Memorial Day morning. Highs will be in the mid 70s Wednesday, the lower 80s Thursday then back to the 70s Friday through the holiday.
