A man is scared after an armed carjacking inside the parking garage of his apartment complex in northeast D.C.

He told police, it happened in a parking garage on the 300 block of H Street around 8:30 p.m. this past Tuesday night.

He spoke exclusively to FOX’S 5 Shomari Stone. The man, who doesn’t want to be identified, says the five teens demanded he give them his phone and keys.

He refused, started running away, and that is when he says the teens cornered him, punching him several times with brass knuckles, and repeatedly kicking him.

He finally gave up his keys, phone, wallet, and then the teens drove off in his car.

"I’m definitely still a little bit shaken from the incident. I mean the fact that it happened in my own residence is something that I was not expecting and so I’m still recovering and trying to stay in good spirits," he said.

That man was released from a hospital and is back at home resting from his injuries.

He says police found his car.

The investigation continues. Anyone with information is asked to contact D.C. police.
