The National Zoo is asking for the publics help in naming its babygirl gorilla (Smithsonian National Zoo)
Washington, D.C. (7News) —
The National Zoo is asking for your help in naming the baby gorilla born on Saturday, May 27.

The zoo said that the baby girl was born at the Great Ape House to mom Calaya, age 20, and dad Baraka, age 31.
The zoo has chosen the following names:
- Lola (LOH-lah) | Yoruba for “greatness”
- Mkali (M-KAH-lee) | Swahili for “fierce”
- Zahra (ZAH-rah) | Swahili for “beautiful flower”
