D.C. police arrested an 11-year-old boy over the weekend for allegedly committing three gun-related crimes in the District in less than a week.

The Metropolitan Police Department said on Sunday, May 21, around 2:45 p.m., officers were called to the 700 block of Lamont Street, Northwest, for a report of a robbery. A person told police someone approached them and demanded their property. When the victim refused, the armed robber showed a firearm and they agreed, according to police. The person took the property and fled.

Then, last Wednesday around 2:40 p.m., police were called to the 700 block of Irving Street, Northwest, for a report of an assault with a gun. Officers learned two people on bicycles had approached a person, who pushed one of them off and ran away. While running, police said the person saw someone pointing a gun in their direction.

Last Friday around 6:45 p.m., officers were called to the 400 block of Luray Place, Northwest, for a report of a robbery. Police said someone on a bicycle approached another person, demanded their property, and reportedly reached into a fanny pack as if they were armed. The person agreed and ran off. The robber fled the scene on a bicycle, police said.

One day later, on Saturday, MPD officers arrested the Northeast D.C. boy and charged him with robbery while armed. assault with a dangerous weapon and robbery fear.

These cases remain under investigation.

The Metropolitan Police Department currently offers a reward of up to $10,000 to anyone who provides information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for a violent crime committed in the District of Columbia.
