D.C. Woman With 44 Outstanding Tickets Kills Lyft Driver, 2 Passengers in Head-On Crash While Fleeing Police: Officials

A Washington, D.C. woman with a history of DUIs has been arrested and charged with murder after crashing her vehicle into another vehicle, killing a Lyft driver and his two passengers while trying to flee from police , RadarOnline.com has learned.

Around 1:40 a.m. on March 15, a crash took place in northwest D.C., as Front Page Detectives reported.

An officer initiated a traffic stop on a Lexus SUV before the crash took place, according to United States Park Police.

A man and woman were inside the vehicle when an officer tried to pull them over, but the female driver refused to stop and fled the scene .

Shortly afterwards, officials say the SUV crashed into a Honda sedan.

Three men were inside the Honda and all three were killed in the crash. The three victims were later identified as Mohamed Kamara , 42, Jonathan Cabrera Mendez , 23, and Olvin Torres Velasquez , 22.

According to police, the man in the Lexus suffered non-life-threatening injuries, but the woman was determined to be in critical condition.

The driver was identified as Nakita Marie Walker , 43, and on May 22, she was arrested and charged with second-degree murder , officials said.

According to WTTG , the SUV had 44 outstanding tickets worth $12,300 with the District’s Department of Motor Vehicles before the crash.

Of those tickets, 43 are for speeding violations and one of them is for running a red light .
