Doubles Viewership of Network Competitors in Washington, D.C., With 95 Months at #1

Reached More Than 15 Million Video Views in Q1

March 28, 2023 — Meet the Press with Chuck Todd (MTP) was the #1 Sunday public affairs show in the demo most valued by news advertisers this past Sunday, March 26, according to data from Nielsen Market Research. 

On digital platforms, MTP dominated Q1 2023, reaching more than 15 million video views and averaging 171,000 full episode viewers on YouTube throughout the first quarter.

#1 in the Key Demo This Past Sunday 

This past Sunday, MTP averaged 480,000 viewers in the key demo, topping CBS’s Face the Nation by +3,000 (+1%) and tied with ABC’s This Week

MTP was the only Sunday public affairs broadcast to increase its viewership in the demo compared to the prior week, improving its competitive positions across-the-board vs. ABC and CBS. 

Sunday’s broadcast featured interviews with Joe Tacopina, an attorney for Donald Trump, former U.S. Attorney Preet Bharara and Gov. Spencer Cox (R-Utah). The program averaged 2.411 million total viewers. 

An additional 169,000 viewers and 40,000 A25-54 viewers watched the Sunday program through a rebroadcast on NBC. 

Reaches More Than 1 Million Views on Digital Last Week 

On top of broadcast performance, Sunday’s episode garnered an additional 203,000 viewers on YouTube. 

Brand-wide, MTP delivered 1.1 million video views last week, seeing 20 percent increase over the prior week and delivering its strongest performance in six weeks. Audiences watched 180,000 hours of MTP content across digital platforms. 

Dominant Digital Performance in Q1

In Q1 2023, MTP delivered more than 15 million video views across digital platforms, with full episodes on YouTube averaging 171,000 viewers each week. 

Double the Viewers of Network Competitors in Washington, D.C.

MTP ranked #1 across the board in Washington, D.C. this past Sunday, doubling the viewership of each network competitor and continuing its 95-month streak as the #1 Sunday public affairs show in the nation’s capital.
