
WASHINGTON (DC News Now) — A teenage boy was shot outside the Turkey Thicket Recreation Center on Friday at about 4:20 p.m., according to police.
Police responded to the recreation center, in the 1100 Michigan Avenue NE, where they saw the victim sitting in a chair.
He was “conscious and breathing,” according to police.
Groups work to stop violence after teen shot on Metro in DC The boy told police that he and his friends were walking on the track outside of the recreation center, when he heard three to four shots behind him.
He sustained injuries to his neck and back.
