On Saturday, February 4, 2023, at around 8:30 pm, officers were dispatched to the 3300 block of Curtis Drive to assist an unresponsive woman in an apartment. JESSUP, MD – The Maryland State Police Homicide Unit continues its investigation into the homicide of a state prison inmate at the Jessup Correctional Institution. The deceased has been identified as 27-year-old Nicholas Joseph Delfosse, who was serving a sentence for burglary. On Saturday, Delfosse was found in his cell with multiple injuries shortly before 4:30 pm. He was pronounced dead at the scene. A suspect, also an inmate, has been identified but has not been charged as of now. Investigators are awaiting autopsy results to determine the exact cause and manner of death.

Police arrived at a local hospital to investigate a report of a walk-in gunshot victim. A 42-year-old man was suffering from a single gunshot wound. The victim is expected to survive. ALEXANDRIA, VA – The Alexandria Police Department has recently charged Jaquan Royal, a 27-year-old resident of Prince George’s County, Maryland, in connection with two local bank robberies. Royal is accused of the March 23, 2023, robbery in the 3500 block of Mount Vernon Avenue, and the April 3, 2023, robbery in the 400 block of John Carlyle Street. CAMBRIDGE, MD – On Sunday, May 22, 2023, Cambridge Police Department officers arrested Michael Vincent Shingler, 59, of North Beach, on an active warrant from the Calvert County Circuit Court. The warrant was related to charges of possessing or receiving controlled dangerous substances (CDS) while confined. Officers located Shingler in the 800 block of Field Crest at around 1:02 pm. BALTIMORE, MD – On last Wednesday, detectives from the Baltimore County Police Department made a significant breakthrough, bringing closure to a long-standing homicide case. Kenneth Davis, 32, was arrested and charged in connection with the fatal shooting of 25-year-old Tracey Carrington that occurred on Thursday, September 6, 2018, in the unit block of W. Overlea Avenue. Carrington, who suffered multiple gunshot wounds as she attempted to enter a vehicle, was pronounced deceased at the scene. After a detailed and prolonged investigation, detectives identified Davis as the suspect. Davis is currently detained at the Maryland Correctional Training Center.
