ST. GEORGE — Ryan Sullivan was selected as the county's new clerk/auditor in a special election held Tuesday evening by the Washington County Republican Party's Central Committee.

Sullivan won the special election with 55.9% of the delegate vote and will replace former County Clerk/Auditor Susan Lewis who resigned May 17 due to her family moving out of the county. Sullivan, who has been the interim clerk/ auditor, will serve the remainder of Lewis' term in office.

Marlee Meyers, Tim Taylor, Brett Tolly and Larry Mulcock also vied for the clerk/auditor position.

Lewis was also originally voted in as the clerk/auditor through a special election held in August 2021 following the retirement of former County Clerk/Auditor Kim Hafen. She retained the position after winning the 2022 general election.
