On September 26, 2023, Robbie Degamore, 33, was arrested at his home in New Matamoras, Ohio. The Southeast Major Crimes Task Force and the Washington County Sheriff’s Office Special Response Team carried out the arrest. Three other individuals were at the residence during the arrest: Mitchell Greenwood, Crystal Slonaker, and Jonathan McIntyre. McIntyre was apprehended after trying to escape.

Local Charleston Residents Face Drug Charges After I-77 Traffic Stop
On September 22, 2023, Deputies Wallace and Davis stopped a vehicle with an expired WV registration while patrolling on I-77 at the 12 mile marker in Salem Township. The driver, Milton Harrell, was seen making suspicious movements inside the vehicle. When the officers approached, they smelled marijuana coming from the vehicle. Harrell admitted to having marijuana in the car's center console and was asked to step out for a search.

Local Authorities Seek Public Assistance in Identifying Suspect in Recent Grandview Township Truck Theft
On September 13, 2023, Deputy Norris was alerted about a stolen 2011 GMC truck from a resident on Leith Run Road, Grandview Township. The truck, painted blue and black, was reportedly heading south on State Route 7. Despite patrolling the area, Deputy Norris did not spot the vehicle.
Dedication of Fire Station 41
On Friday, September 29, Washington Township will host a ribbon cutting and dedication for its new Fire Station 41, located at 716 E. Franklin St. The dedication will include remarks from Township officials, a ribbon cutting, tours of the new facility, and light refreshments. $2.25 Million Granted for Wastewater Facility Upgrades in Henry County, Junction City, and Macksburg: Over 1,300 Local Residents to Benefit
Three Ohio communities will receive a total of $2.25 million in Residential Public Infrastructure Grant funding. This will be used to improve local wastewater treatment facilities. The Ohio Department of Development is providing the funding, which was announced by Governor Mike DeWine. Over 1,300 Ohio residents will benefit from these improvements. The goal is to ensure safe drinking water and proper waste disposal. This could also make the regions more appealing for economic development.

On September 18, 2023, Pioneer Township saw several incidents. Deputy Eichhorn pulled over a vehicle for traffic violations. The driver, Johnathan Hess, was found in possession of marijuana and methamphetamines. He was arrested and taken to Washington County Jail.
