Missouri Department of Corrections Continues to Fight Lawsuit
The Missouri Department of Corrections continues to fight a lawsuit filed in Cole County court by a Washington County woman. On June 23rd of 2021, a sexual harassment lawsuit was filed against the state’s prison system by 65-year-old Patricia Lawson of Potosi. Lawson is a former employee at the Potosi prison. She has claimed sexual harassment at her former work site, a hostile work environment and retaliation in violation of the Missouri Human Rights Act. Lawson had worked at the prison in Potosi from mid-2007 to mid-2019.

18-year-old killed after crashing into oncoming traffic in Washington County
WASHINGTON COUNTY, Mo. — A woman was killed as the result of a fatal two-vehicle crash Monday morning on Missouri State Highway 21 in Washington County. According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol crash report, 18-year-old Peyton Kail from Potosi, Missouri, was driving northbound on MO-21, south of Cambell Road in a pickup truck when she crossed the center line while going around a curve and struck a semi-trailer truck head-on in oncoming traffic.
Fatal Crash in Washington County
(Washington County, MO) A Potosi teenager, 18 year old Peyton A. Kail, is dead after a fatal traffic accident in Washington County Monday morning that took place at 10:47. According to Highway Patrol Troopers a pickup driven north on Highway 21, south of Cambell Road, by Kail failed to negotiate a curve and crossed over the centerline crashing into a diesel truck driven south by 63 year old Kevin W. Golden of Caledonia. Kail was pronounced dead on the scene. Golden received minor injuries and was taken to Mercy Hospital South at St. Louis. Both men were wearing their seat belts during the crash.

WASHINGTON COUNTY — An 18-year-old Potosi woman was killed Monday morning in a crash with a semi-truck. Peyton Kail was driving north on Highway 21 just south of Cambell Road around 10:45 a.m. when she tried to follow a curve in the street and crossed the center line, police said.

(Washington County, MO) A De Soto man, 56 year old Donald M. Siegler, is recovering from moderate injuries after he was involved in an ATV crash in Washington County Tuesday morning at 11:15. Highway Patrol reports show Siegler was driving near Floyd Tower Road, at Forest Service Road, when his vehicle rolled over. Siegler, who was not wearing a helmet during the crash was taken to Mercy Hospital South at St. Louis.
