    Titans explode for 11 runs in 7th to defeat Waseca 20-1

    The Tri-City United softball team traveled to Waseca Thursday night to take on the Bluejays in a preview of a future Big South Conference matchup. The offense for the Titans scored five runs through the first four innings before exploding for 15 more runs in the final three innings to defeat the Bluejays 20-1.

    With the win, the fourth in a row for the team, TCU improves to 9-9 (7-5 MRC) on the season.

    Adison Schroer started in the circle for TCU and earned the win allowing just one run on five hits while striking out seven batters.

    The Titans struck in the top of the first inning when Cristina Cruz sent a sac fly to deep center field that allowed Avery Lerfald to tag up and score standing up. In the top of the fourth inning, TCU put together a two-out rally after a pair of infield fly outs.

    Lexi Factor hit a single into second that scored Anne Cooper followed by a Mallorie Plut rip into shallow center that scored Morgan Fredrickson. Cruz returned to the plate and crushed a ball into left center field that came just short of the fence, scoring two runs as she made her way to third for the triple.

    Waseca's lone run came on an RBI double in the bottom of the fourth, TCU responded in the top of the fifth with an two run double from Emma Skluzacek.

    The game completely unraveled for the Bluejays in the top of the seventh when the Titan hitters batted around the order for 11 runs. The stretch included a leadoff homer from Caleigh Hoefs as well as a three run homer from Cruz.

    Lerfald finished the game going 4-5 at the plate with 3 RBI's while Caleigh Hoefs and Mallorie Plut each recorded three hits.
