WARSAW — Numerous departments were called to a fire at an outbuilding in Devil’s Backbone on Wednesday morning, June 7.
First responders were called out at 7:09 a.m. to 2304 S. SR 25, Warsaw, for the blaze, said Warsaw-Wayne Fire Territory Battalion Chief Mike Brubaker.
It took firefighters about an hour to control the fire, he said. No one was injured in it.
WWFT called Burket and Winona Lake fire departments for a full assist, and Atwood, Claypool, Leesburg and Pierceton for tankers, said Brubaker.
Tippecanoe Township Fire Territory brought in a truck to help cover Warsaw while WWFT was at the fire.
Also responding to the scene were Lutheran EMS and Mentone EMS and the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office.
The building is a total loss, said Brubaker, and the cause of the fire is unknown at this time.
According to Beacon GIS, the property is owned by Norman O. Jr. and Mary E. McKinney.
