LATER. LARGE AND DAMAGING TORNADOES ARE ON THE GROUND AT THIS HOUR IN SOUTHEASTERN IOWA. JUST MOMENTS AGO, KETV NEWSWATCH 7 STORM CHASER NATHAN MOORE TRACKED THIS TORNADO IN KILLED IOWA AS IT MOVED TO THE NORTHEAST. WE’VE HAD ANOTHER CONFIRMED TORNADO THAT MAY HAVE A MILE WIDE JUST TO THE SOUTH. YOU CAN SEE HOW DARK IT IS HERE. WE’RE WORKING TO FIND OUT HOW MUCH DAMAGE HAS BEEN DONE. IOWA CITY, AN AREA SOUTH OF CEDAR RAPIDS, ARE UNDER TORNADO WARNINGS RIGHT NOW. THERE ARE NO REPORTS OF INJURIES SO FAR. Tornadoes confirmed in southeast Iowa Friday
The National Weather Service confirmed around 3:45 p.m. Friday that a tornado had touched down in Wapello County. NWS Des Moines retweeted a post by storm chaser Noah Emmert showing the tornado near Ottumwa. KCCI has received reports that the tornado damaged a home north of the town of about 25,000 people located about 90 miles southeast of Des Moines.Shortly after 4 p.m., the weather service retweeted another post showing an apparent tornado near Malcom in Poweshiek County.The storm brought rain, hail and multiple reports of tornadoes and high winds to portions of the southern half of the state.
