Lorraine (Sjostrom) Barnhart, 92, of Wamego, Kansas, passed away Thursday, May 25, 2023, at the Good
Shepherd Hospice House in Manhattan, Kansas.
Lorraine was born on December 30, 1930, in Athens, Pennsylvania, the daughter of Ernhard Sjostrom
and Otelia Burnside. She graduated from Waverly Central Schools, in New York.
On December 7, 1946, in Athens, Pennsylvania, Lorraine was united in marriage to Fred Barnhart Sr.
They enjoyed 68 years of marriage, before his passing in 2014.

They enjoyed 68 years of marriage, before his passing in 2014.
Lorraine was a homemaker and devoted her life to her family. She loved to read and especially enjoyed
baking for her family. Lorraine and Fred lived in Waverly, New York for over 50 years, before moving to
Concord, North Carolina in 1999 and eventually moving to Wamego in 2005.
Lorraine is survived by her three sons: Fred Barnhart, Jr. and wife Mary of Phoenix, New York, Jeff Barnhart and wife Laurie of Raleigh, North Carolina; Mike Barnhart and wife Kim of Wamego; and several grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband, Fred Barnhart Sr.
Cremation arrangements are in the care of Campanella & Stewart Funeral Home. A private inurnment will be held at a later date. Memorials are suggested to the Good Shepherd Hospice House and may be left in the care of the Stewart Funeral Home, PO Box 48, 66547, Wamego, KS.
