2 Trojans trekking to state
Two Southwest High School runners have advanced to the Class 2 State Track and Field Championships, scheduled for Friday and Saturday. At the Class 2, Sectional 3 meet in Blue Eye on Saturday, senior Robert Humphries finished fourth in the mile and 2-mile at Sectional 3 at Blue Eye High School. Humphries ran a 4:39 in the mile and 10:23 in the 3200 meters.
Kimberling City wastewater plant named state’s best
The city of Kimberling City has recently emerged as a beacon of excellence in wastewater management. During the May 7 Board of Alderman meeting, Kimberling City’s Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator Dan McCarthy was recognized for his hard work. McCarthy was presented the title of 2024 Operator of the Year by the Missouri Water Environment Association (MWEA).

Man drowns at Bull Shoals
The Missouri State Highway Patrol Water Patrol Division has confirmed the identity of a man that drowned in Bull Shoals Lake Tuesday, May 7. Larry Dilday, 75, of Forsyth was fishing from the bank and fell into the water near the mouth of Swan Creek. Dilday was pronounced deceased on the scene at 2:44 p.m. when authorities arrived.
