Jeramey Daniel Vandiver was arrested but no one was found to be harmed.

Walker County deputies arrested a man Friday night at the Walker County Airport who said he had killed three or four people and was trespassing at the airport.Deputy Christian Emberg arrived on the scene and detained Jeramey Daniel Vandiver, 47, of Jasper. Sheriff Nick Smith, Aviation Captain Ray Capps, and other deputies also arrived to assist.Other deputies checked the locations where the man said he had killed people but no one was found harmed.Vandiver was taken to a hospital for evaluation before being taken to jail. Officials say Vandiver drove to the airport in a stolen 1972 Chevrolet Corvette and had methamphetamine in his possession. Several firearms were also found in the car which are believed to belong to its owner.The Winston County Sheriff’s Office contacted the car's owner who said it was being stored in Curry but had been stolen.Regional Paramedical Services took Vandiver to the emergency room for evaluation. He was then taken to jail and charged with criminal trespass and public intoxication.Additional charges are expected for the drug possession and stolen vehicle.
